Géraldine Naus
“I take a moment to pause.” This is how my student and I begin our work together. It is a special moment when time becomes dense. We perceive the sounds around us and pay close attention to our bodies. Without attempting to correct a posture that might be judged as good or bad, our pause allows us to choose a different attitude. One of benevolent acceptance of what is. The Alexander Technique provides tools for developing greater physical freedom and learning to listen to ourselves. It helps to free the breath that nourishes our cells and animates us. As an opera singer, this technique allows me to go deeper into the knowledge of myself, my body, my breath, my vocal technique, and my stage presence. I teach musicians and non-musicians, the Alexander technique alone or in combination with singing. When our bodies take root and the space of freedom allows the heart to be heard, vitality flows upward with momentum!
