The Technique has given me a whole new world of perception, sensitivity and colour.

The Alexander technique teaches us how to live in wholeness and be present to ourselves and the world around us. Paying attention to our body's own tensions makes us stop and consider. As we gain awareness, mind and body reintegrate. We start to lose the grip of unconscious habitual reactions and no longer need to be sucked into events; we acquire more control over our reactions.

This gives us more confidence and allows us to be calmer. It’s why so many performers, where nerves can play havoc, find the technique a lifesaver. But let's not save it just for major challenges. Alexander technique is for every moment of our lives and will often help handle even stressful situations more serenely.

Expansion leads me to something greater. A state of being." - Helga Henckens
