Peter De Vos
By dancing tango, I encountered the limitations of my body and mind. Gradually, it became more difficult to move differently and more freely without building up tension. In my search, I came across the Alexander Technique. During the 3-year training, and all the research that followed, I learnt that limitations are mainly the result of trauma, learned behaviour and compelling, unconscious thought and muscle patterns. It became the start of a journey towards more personal freedom in presence and awareness.
Annually, I take a postgraduate cours with Caren Bayer in Freiburg and workshops with Tommy Thompson in Dorsten (Germany). I follow several trainings and courses with inspiring teachers with a dance-movement background such as Alice MacDonald, Liz Koch, Eva Karczag, Maria Filali and Jaime Ortega.
During the sessions, I share my knowledge and open up body awareness to activate the body's supportive, preventive and restorative functions. My Alexander Technique classes focus on the overall functioning of the body. Based on the functioning of the body and mind and the desire for greater freedom and body awareness, they offer space for personal transformation.
My mother tongue is Dutch. I also speak French and English fluently.
