Martin Michiels
Since the age of six, music has accompanied every step of Martin Michiels’ life. Yet it was during his very first lesson with Martine Cardinal that a new world opened up to him: by discovering constructive rest, he felt his body respond, unnecessary tensions dissolve, and a new lightness appear. That moment became a turning point.
Gradually, he realized that the Alexander Technique was not only a support for playing the guitar with greater ease, but also a path towards something essential: learning to meet oneself differently, letting go of struggle, and choosing space instead of contraction.
After completing a three-year training with Monique Vanormelingen, he became a teacher in order to share this living experience of freedom and awareness. Seeing a student stand taller, breathe more freely, or regain confidence in their own resources remains a profound joy for him.
Through music, teaching, and the Alexander Technique, Martin seeks to cultivate a simple yet essential quality: compassion towards oneself, a foundation for lasting transformation.
Martin teaches in English, French and Dutch.
